The multinational Rieter Group enters the district of Tachov creating 80 new jobs

(05-2010)

Bor (Tachov district) 12th May (Czech News Agency) – Leading European manufacturer of auto parts enters the CTPark Bor industrial park close to Tachov.

According to Czech News Agency the company is Rieter Automotive Systems, a producer of thermal and sound insulation parts for motor vehicles of all brands.

"80 new jobs will be created in the new rental hall by the end of Q2 2010“, said Mrs Alexandra Rudyšarová, the director of CzechInvest. According to Mrs Rudyšarová, the investor made his decision quickly, however she did not reveal the company’s name since they requested it was not disclosed. Rieter Automotive is a part of the Rieter Group, a group of suppliers of lines and machines for production of yarns, fibers, nonwovens and parts for automobiles.

In Choceň (the Czech Republic) Rieter has been producing thermal and sound insulation parts by pressing non-woven fabrics since 2008.In addition, the Swiss multinational Rieter Group has two plants in Ústí nad Orlicí and Žamberk where it manufactures textile machinery and machine parts.

As said by Mrs Rudyšarová, the investor chose modern premises for light production and warehousing in the West Bohemian town of Bor because it allows them to easily and effectively service automotive companies in Germany. In the final stage of decision making the investor selected between the modification of an existing hall within CTPark Bor and a build-to-suit solution. In order to meet the deadline, the investor opted for the first alternative.

Mr Karel Stránský from the real estate consultancy company Colliers International who represented the investor indicated that the company has leased more than 6,200 sqm of warehouse and production space, over 600 sqm of office space and almost 800 sqm of sanitary and technical areas.

The investor will use the new space for production and assembly of car components for its client - one of the largest German automotive companies; as stated by Czech News Agency it is a new contract for BMW. "Thanks to its strategic location, high quality infrastructure, relatively cheap and well qualified labour, the Czech Republic is still an attractive spot for western European companies", noted Mr Stránský.

Nowadays, Western Bohemia together with Prague are the most demanded locations in the segment of industrial and logistic properties. "The decision of the investor just confirms all of the advantages that the Tachov region offers and marks the arrival of other companies with which we, together with Colliers International, lead discussions“, said Mr Milan Kratina from CzechInvest.

CTP Invest, the owner of the park in Bor, operates two modern premises in Western Bohemia: CTPark Bor and CTPark Pilsen, that together offer nearly 900,000 sqm of warehousing and light production areas. According to Mr Kratina, the vacancy rate of industrial properties in Western Bohemia belongs to one of the lowest in the Czech Republic and continues to fall.

“In Bor we currently have 18,000 sqm available in a hall of 64,000 sqm and another part of the hall will be taken by CEVA Logistic" stated Mr Jakub Pelikan from CTP Invest. Once all of the existing premises are leased, the developer will start construction of another 36,000 sqm hall, which already has valid Building Permit and can therefore be completed within 6 months."We will not build on speculative basis but only for a specific requirements of an investor", added Mr Pelikan.

According to Mr. Pelikan, the vacant premises will be leased very quickly as CTP already registers several new interested companies.

"The situation in the region of Pilsen is considerably better compared to the previous year, however speaking of the whole Czech market, I would not be that optimistic", added Mr Pelikan.
